OPPORTUNITY
SHOULD BE
CLOSER TO HOME.

Our young people have potential. They deserve the space, support and exposure to discover it.

The 252 Youth Hub is envisioned as a daily youth and community center for Eastern Carolina: a supervised place to learn, create, build skills and connect with people who believe in the next generation.

We want teens to explore opportunities they may not otherwise encounter, prepare for adulthood and see a future for themselves in their own community.

BUILD CONFIDENCE

Share your work, learn from a mentor and connect interests with future education and career possibilities.

An illustrative youth experience, not a confirmed schedule. The final model will be developed with young people, families and partners.

HOW WILL THE VISION GROW?

We are bringing together community voices, potential partners and a growing team to shape a realistic plan. Exploring the building will help us understand which spaces can support learning, recreation, creativity and community care.

Growth also means planning trained staff, youth supervision, transportation, program partnerships and reliable funding. As these pieces come together, we can refine the facility layout and decide what is feasible for an opening phase.

WHAT IT COULD BRING

Youth theater, music, dance, spoken word and talent showcases could help young people practice expression, collaboration and confidence.

Behind the scenes, teens could explore sound, lighting, set design, stage management and media production with experienced mentors.

Community showcases and film screenings could bring families together and celebrate local creativity.

WHAT IT COULD LOOK LIKE

A modest stage with curtains, flexible seating, clear accessible routes and a sound-and-lighting area. Durable finishes and acoustic treatment would help the room serve rehearsals, performances and presentations.

Orange, blue and lime accents could carry the Hub’s identity into a warm, welcoming space.

The actual layout, capacity, accessibility, acoustics and equipment will depend on property assessment, code requirements, professional design and funding.
